Indian ginseng, winter cherry

Sanskrit: "Smells like a horse, gives the vitality and sexual energy of a horse".

Ashwagandha, a plant native to the arid regions of India and North Africa, plays a role in Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia like ginseng in Chinese medicine... but is much easier to grow than the latter. Its regenerative effect acts on muscular tissues, the nervous system and the reproductive system, among others, and is extremely useful for countering all forms of fatigue, while promoting better sleep.
