The hollyhock is a very old flowering plant that originated in Asia and has been cultivated in Europe since the 16th century. Its slender spikes sometimes climb up to 3 m! It can be found in several forms, in a variety of colors, with single or double petals: here, we share the simple, classic form of this species, which grows as a biennial in the garden, and sometimes as a perennial. For a sunny position in soil that drains well, to prevent the rust that sometimes affects the leaves... Extraordinary cut flower, time for your bouquets!

Sow directly in the garden in late summer or early autumn, for flowering the following summer. Prefer a sunny spot in fertile soil that drains well, protected from strong winds. Don't bury the seeds too deeply! Simply press them into the soil... 0.6 cm maximum. Germination takes about 24 days. We're looking for 50-60 cm between plants in the end.
