heliopsis false helianthus

$ 4,50

Heliopsis helianthoides var. scabra , Asteraceae

ox-eye sunflower

The heliopsis faux-helianthus, this "false sunflower" with double flowers, arrived in our garden with the wind, or a bird... It has shown great autonomy, tolerating our neglect of it and only faltering in the most severe droughts. Otherwise, its bright yellow glows and delights the garden. Consistency itself! 60-90 cm high. Hardy in zone 3.

Press the seeds onto the surface of the potting soil and give them a cold period of at least 4 weeks, between -4°C and 4°C (stratification). Then expose them to heat, at around 20°C. Germination will then take place within 2 weeks, enhanced by temperature oscillations (day/night). You can also sow directly in the garden in autumn, on the surface, for germination the following spring. Leave 75 to 90 cm between tillers in the garden.
