organic black cumin

$ 4,50

Nigella sativa, Ranunculaceae

black cumin, nigelle cultivée, black cumin

Black cumin yields small, triangular, black seeds with a pungent, pungent flavor which, when ground to a powder, produce a seasoning reminiscent of the "four spice" blend (pepper, cloves, nutmeg and ginger). They are also used in curries and other spice blends. Used by the Romans (ref. Mrs. Grieve). Also kept in linen cupboards as an insect repellent. Black cumin bears its delicate bluish flowers over spider-leg foliage... An easy-to-grow annual native to Syria.
