Organic Chinese nettle with trident leaves
$ 5,00
Boehmeria tricuspis, Urticaceae
Ramie
Chinese nettle with trident leaves is a little-known perennial that thrives in shady situations in rich, humus-rich soil. This member of the nettle family has no stinging hairs! So you can brush up against it without taking any precautions. It is remarkable for its trident-shaped leaves, licorice-red stems and pinkish-white, pipe-cleaner-shaped flowers, which appear in late summer.
Very useful as well as pretty, it provides a quality textile fiber that can also be used to make paper. It's also a dye plant, producing a warm, soft buff color. And you can eat its leaves too! 80 cm. Hardy perennial up to zone 4.
