Red Winter' lettuce is vigorous and hardy. It overwinters well after late summer sowing. It is a romaine with open, tall, almost cylindrical buds and leaves strongly tinted plum-amber red with green veins. The color is best in colder weather and it appreciates copious watering. Sweet, good texture. 65 days.
