organic round sorrel
$ 5,00
Rumex scutatus, Polygonaceae
buckler-leaved sorrel
Round sorrel is our favorite sorrel! It's a small perennial with escutcheon-shaped leaves, often silvery since the original seeds came from the cultivar 'Silver Shields'. It makes a perfect ground cover along pathways or at the front of a flower bed, where it's easy to harvest its small, succulent, lemony leaves: a delight that should be eaten sparingly because of their high oxalic acid content. Unconcerned about soil type, it is equally at home in sun or semi-shade.
