Nepeta sibirica, Labiatae
Siberian catnip grows naturally between Russia and China, and is part of Mongolia's traditional pharmacopoeia. A hardy perennial that's rather rare in gardens, it blooms tirelessly from July to autumn. Its purplish-pink flower spikes rise to a height of 90 cm, and the plant spreads a good 80 cm wide. It's best to divide the clumps every 3-4 years to maintain the Tatare's vigor. An excellent companion for our tripartite panicaut.
