organic South American Banana tomato
$ 4,50
Solanum lycopersicum, Solanaceae
The 'South America Banana' tomato is a voluptuous red Andean tomato, horned like some chillies. It's all flesh: no juice and very few seeds, and its thin skin is easy to peel. You can cook it in thick slices like a steak, or simply reduce it to an exceptionally mild, fragrant sauce with very little acidity. Place in a sheltered position as it is sensitive to wind, and water regularly to prevent blossom end rot. Very vigorous, indeterminate growth. Mid-season: ripe fruit from 74 days after transplanting.
