Solanum nigrum var. guineense = Solanum scabrum, Solanaceae
Chichiquelite is a species of nightshade that resembles its cousin the wonderberry but the plants are less compact. They stand a little taller and the harvest is even more abundant. The taste of the fruit is reminiscent of pastis... They can be eaten raw or cooked, but only when ripe and black. The whole bunch ripens at the same time. Bluish flowers. Early. Up to 1 m. Tends to reseed.

Sow on the surface of the soil (do not cover) and maintain constant humidity, 5-6 weeks before the last frost. Keep the soil at 24°C to 36°C during germination, which lasts 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant when the first true leaves appear and keep between 16°C and 20°C until transplanting to the garden.
Note: if germination is nil, the seeds have gone dormant: place your seedlings in the cold at -4°C to 4°C for a few weeks, then bring them back to the warmth.
