Artemisia absinthium, Asteraceae

This holy herb of the ancients, muse to our cursed poets, is a hardy perennial that's easy to grow. With its silky, silvery leaves as armor, it laughs off drought and fends off wind and deer. 75 cm of caressing, intoxicating fragrance that leaves no one indifferent. Dedicated to the goddess Artemis, who is associated with the Moon, wormwood guides our steps in the milky glow of this star, which it reflects. Its insect-repellent effect is another reason to let it grow around the edges of the garden, where it repels many harmful insects.

It is, of course, an essential ingredient in the world of spirits and cocktails. And rightly so, as it's one of the best bitter tonics for whetting the appetite. It's also used to flavour roast poultry, making it perfectly digestible.
