organic Brazil cress
$ 4,50 - $ 23,00
Spilanthes fusca, Asteraceae
Brède mafane, Para cress, toothache plant, Szechuan buttons
Warm on the tongue, this condiment plant, widely used in the Indian Ocean, enhances the foods it accompanies: salads, meats... But eaten on its own, Brazil cress is downright numbing to the mouth! Its spreading habit, bronzed foliage and yellow pompon flowers with a purple-brown spot in the center make it more than desirable in the garden. It's an annual plant that loves sun and humus-rich soil. It is reputed to combat gum disease.
