organic sage

$ 4,50

Salvia officinalis, Lamiaceae

A well-known condiment and medicinal plant, sage doesn't often appear on the menu... yet it's a wonderful accompaniment to beans, eggs, cheese, fish, poultry, pork or lamb. Probably at the limit of its hardiness in Zone 4, this sage doesn't always survive our winters... Here are the seeds of our hardiest plants. Plants of varying sizes, with blue blooms, mostly pink, lilac, sometimes white. Hardy perennial.

bag = 50-55 seeds

Sow directly in the garden in May, or indoors, just below the surface of the potting soil (important to have living potting soil = non-sterile) 6-8 weeks before transplanting. Before sowing: rinse seeds well and soak for 24 hours. Germination: 7-14 days, between 15°C and 21°C. Preferably water from underneath, to prevent seedlings from melting. Transplant every 30 cm.
