organic Czech Black pepper

$ 4,50

Capsicum annuum, Solanaceae

The Czech Black pepper definitely belongs to the Jalapeño tribe... By its shape and capsaicin content: it's a hot pepper, but a mild one among the hot ones. The perfect "no-mouth-popping" variety that ripens even in a cool climate like ours, without the help of a greenhouse. We've even grown it without staking or watering in our sandy plot at the end of the earth, and have been dazzled by its performance and tolerance of neglect.

It's also very pretty, both when the small conical fruits are immature and black, and when they take on a garnet-red hue when ripe. It's an early pepper, resilient, with good flavor and a beautiful appearance... What more could you ask for?

60 cm - 90 cm high. Approx. 65 days for black fruit and 80 days for ripe fruit. 2000 - 5000 on the Scoville scale.
