Joyau d'Oaxaca organic tomato
$ 4,50 - $ 15,00
Solanum lycopersicum, Solanaceae
The 'Joyau d'Oaxaca' tomato is surprisingly early and easy to grow for such an exotic-looking tomato. This Zapotec variety, native to the Mexican state of Oaxaca, produces vigorous potato-leaved plants with a semi-indeterminate habit, so they don't run very far.
Its bouncy, ribbed medium to large fruits are variegated yellow, orange and red, and its flavor is fruity to perfection, with a hint of peach. Whether sliced in salads or sandwiches, in salsa, or even in pie, this tomato is a delight. Early to mid-season, first fruits ripe around 65 days after transplanting.
