organic Doubs yellow carrot

Daucus carota, Apiaceae

The Doubs yellow carrot is an ancient variety, first mentioned in 1894. Originally used as animal fodder, it has since been refined through selective breeding to become a highly prized human table vegetable. Poor animals rarely get the chance to eat carrots these days...
Its flavor is delicious, both fruity and creamy. It's a long, fleshy yellow carrot, but fine-grained when not too large. Tolerates heavy soils. [selection with pointed rather than obtuse tips].
