Drunken Woman organic lettuce

$4.50

Lactuca sativa, Asteraceae

syn. Rossa di Trento

The name Drunken Woman is undoubtedly linked to the slightly wacky appearance of this lettuce, which is in fact an ancient variety from Trentino in northern Italy, and whose original name is Lattuga ubriacona frastagliatawhich translates into drunken lettuce.

This voluminous semi-head lettuce is well supplied with Tender, blond leaves with wine-red edges and serrated margins. Its ribs are crisp and juicy, and its leaves are redder on the outside and greener in the center, their hue brighter in autumn.

Taking around 60 days to reach full size, they will look their best at the beginning and end of the growing season. We prefer cut-and-cut cultivation for midsummer. It adapts well to all types of soil and has limited water requirements," the association informs us. Cercatori di Semi Terranatura. Slow to set seed.
