Myrrhis odorata, Apiaceae

sweet cicely, fragrant myrrh

Musk chervil is a hardy perennial in zone 3. Its beautiful, gently hairy, serrated leaves have a fresh aniseed fragrance. They can be used all summer as "vegetable sugar". The young, blanched shoots in spring are exquisite in salads, and the umbels of white flowers turn into bunches of shiny fruit that you suck on like candy.

For rich, moist soil in sun or part shade, where it will quickly naturalize. Fresh seeds DELIVERED FROM AUGUST TO NOVEMBER are sown as soon as possible after receipt, either directly in the garden or in a container left outside for the winter. 80 cm. Please note that shipping costs will be added to cover this summer mailing.

20 seeds [available in Quebec and the rest of Canada only].

Fresh musk chervil seeds are pressed onto the surface of potting soil (they need light to germinate), as soon as possible after reception, either directly in the garden or in a container left outside over winter. Germination can vary greatly, so be patient. Potting soil (both indoors and outdoors) should remain moist, but not soggy. Once established, chervil will take its place and resow itself, as long as you let it go to seed!
