Damask black cumin Miss Jekyll Mix

$ 4,50

Nigella damascena, Ranunculaceae

Venus-hair, spider's legs, Capuchin-beard, devil-in-the-bush, love-in-a-mist

Add an air of the Mediterranean to your garden with Damask Nigella 'Miss Jekyll Mix', an annual flowering plant perfect for sunny, dry gardens. It laughs off heatwaves and puts on a three-part show: firstly, with its fine, lacy foliage, which contrasts beautifully with the more opaque foliage around it... then with its mainly pale-blue blossoms, embellished with whites and a few pinks, with semi-double, double or even triple petals (including the irresistible sky-blue selected by Gertrude Jekyll in 1899), and with the swollen, predominantly mauve seed capsules that follow, popular for making dry bouquets. Approx. 45 cm high.
