organic green climbing melon

$ 4,75

Cucumis melo, Cucurbitaceae

The green climbing melon, an old French variety, is a small embroidered melon that fits in one hand... But what a concentrate of flavour! Its format is practical for vertical trellising, and therefore for small gardens or greenhouses: there's no need to support the fruit as it rises with netting because of its small diameter and light weight (500-800 g).

The skin of the fruit, initially dark green speckled with pale green, turns orange when fully ripe. It's up to you to decide which stage of ripening you prefer... We like to pick the fruit at the stage when the green begins to turn, to enjoy the sweet, melting, juicy and pleasantly fragrant green flesh to the full. Harvest begins 90 days after direct sowing.
