Primula cortusoides, Primulaceae
From a rosette of pleasantly lobed, hairy basal leaves emerge long, airy stems bearing 6 to 12 fragrant, purplish-pink flowers. The flowers are about 2cm in diameter... real candy for the undergrowth. Native to Siberia and northern China, this species is at home in the shade of a Thuja. For mid-shade or full shade, in cool, moist soil that drains well. PH acid or neutral. 25 cm high. Hardy in zone 4.
