Schizanthus pinnatus, Solanaceae

poor man's orchid, angel wings, butterfly flower

Schizanthus is also known as the poor man's orchid: that's how intriguing its bloom is, and how undemanding it is to grow... An overabundance of flowers that are perfect for bouquets, and that love the cooler parts of Quebec. They thrive in sun or semi-shade, in the ground or in containers. From purple to salmon, bright orange to violet, it blooms all season long, from spring to frost, over lacy, fern-like foliage. 45 cm high.
