organic pink ragwort
$ 4,75
Senecio polyodon, Asteraceae
Pink ragwort is both hardy and visually delicate. Innumerable little daisies of brilliant magenta-pink are born at the summer solstice, with a bonus second flowering in September-October until the hard frosts, forming an airy bouquet above beautiful rosettes of narrow, smooth light-green leaves.
For a species native to the mountains of South Africa, it's a surprisingly hardy flowering plant here in zone 4! Provided it's given a sunny, fairly dry site that drains well. A charming, hardy and undemanding plant = happiness! Between 30 and 40 cm tall when in flower. Plant 50 cm apart, as clumps grow larger.
