Petit Russe organic cucumber

$ 4,50

Cucumis sativus, Cucurbitaceae

We don't know if the 'Petit Russe' cucumber is exactly the 'Early Russian' from the mid-19th century, but it matches its description: A beautiful little oval table cucumber (12-15 cm) with green skin, an ideal candidate for marinades when picked young. Its flesh is sweet, not bitter. The plant is vigorous and grows between 1.5 and 2 m. Good production throughout the season if picked regularly. Very good tolerance to cool, damp climates. Our original seeds come from the Hébert family on Côte-de-Beaupré, Qc. Grandfather Maurice grew and sold these cucumbers at the Quebec City public market in the '60s. Approximately 50 days to maturity from direct sowing.
