Soapwort is a pleasantly scented plant in the carnation family, containing saponins with foaming and cleansing properties. A decoction of the root can be used to gently and effectively wash fabrics... but it can also be used with care on skin and hair. This pretty perennial plant is easy to plant in a sunny spot in the garden, where it will spread by rhizomes to form a small colony. 1 m. Hardy in Z 4.

Soak the seeds in water for 12 h, then sow them just a few mm deep, at 15°C-20°C. After 2-4 weeks at this T°, stratify the seeds for a minimum of 6 weeks in the fridge, then re-expose them to heat. Leave about 1m between plants in the garden.

After 2-4 weeks in light, stratify 4-6 weeks, Light 15ºC to 21ºC, Soak 24h
