organic Ste-Anne shallot

$ 12,00$ 20,00

 Allium cepa var. perutile? A. cepa x fistulosum?

The Ste-Anne shallot is a hardy, perennial green onion. The above-ground part is green and sweet, while the underground part is white, pungent and highly aromatic, like a slightly more full-bodied French shallot. It appears very soon after thawing in spring, goes dormant in summer and is reborn in autumn, producing leaves until the frosts. For the old gardener who bequeathed it to us, it was a springtime morning tonic, served raw on toast. Occasional greenish-white blossoms produce delicious pearly bulbils, the most delicate this plant has to offer. Propagates easily by division during dormancy. Delivery from mid-July to October.

6 bulbs: 12.00$ (separate regular shipment)
